Day by day
DAY 1: ARRIVAL KIRKENES
INCLUDING
The ultimate challenge
to tick off on your bucket list. With a constant temperature of - 4°, you are in for a cold and magical night. True, many stay the night in the coolest hotel in Kirkenes, because it is a once in lifetime experience. But believe it or not, most people sleep very well there. All you need is a warm, thermal sleeping bag, and some good, simple tips on how to stay warm, and you will sleep like Snow white.
DAY 2: KING CRAB WINTER SAFARI
The red King Crab is not only the biggest, but also the most delicious shellfish you will ever have the chance of tasting. The King crab is a fascinating creature, the same species as the Alaskan king crab, which you may have seen being caught by dauntless fishermen on tv.
The king crab migrated west from Russia in the sixties, and is now a part of the eastern Finnmark marine fauna. They are an extremely robust, ferocious and fast reproducing species, so Norwegian fishermen have had their hands full fishing them, so they wouldn`t threaten the native sea life!
INCLUDING
The cabins are inspired by the traditional hunting and fishing hut, “gamme”, that you find in the wilderness of Lapland - the Sami areas of the Arctic.
On the inside the Gamme is far from the average wilderness lodge. Here you will have all you want for; air conditioning, underfloor heating, natural tiles, an exclusive bathroom with shower, and a design toilet from Villeroy & Boch. There is also an Aurora wall to gaze upon, if you should be unlucky and miss the sight of Northern Lights during your stay in our winter wonderland.
The large panoramic window
will let you look for the blaze of Northern Lights in the sky above the ice hotel, from the warmth of your cabin. The Aurora Borealis is the main attraction for many who visit northern Scandinavia, and if you stay with us for a few days, the chance is great that your polar dream will come true.
DAY 3: HUNTING THE NORTHERN LIGHTS
The Northern Lights, Aurora Borealis is perhaps the most beautiful natural phenomenon you will ever have the opportunity of seeing- an explosion of green, fluttering like a veil across the arctic sky. When you are looking up at the aurora, you realize how small you are in the vastness of nature.
Our driver will take you far from the light pollution, and drive east towards the russian border, west toward Finland, or south into the Pasvik valley, depending on the aurora forecast. In addition to the chance of spotting the northern lights, the tours offer a great opportunity of sightseeing in the area.

DAY 4: HUSKY SAFARI
See the breathtaking arctic nature surrounding Kirkenes. As opposed to the pine forests of Rovaniemi and Finnish lapland, in Kirkenes you find the sparse and majestic arctic landscapes, with mountain plateaus, white tundra and long fjords, which are typical of Finnmark and Northern Norway.
Best of all, you get to enjoy these natural nordic wonders without engine noise and gasolin smell - your husky team will pull you there the traditional and environmental way.
