Trolltunga hike

Trolltunga is no doubt one of the most awe-inspiring cliffs in Norway, situated about 1,100 meters above sea level and hovering some 700 metres above Lake Ringedalsvatnet.

No wonder Trolltunga is on your bucket list. Trolltunga is the definition of a true Rockstar. Experience some of the wildest nature scenery that Norway has to offer. Our guides will enhance your hiking experience with their local knowledge, high competence and lots of good motivation.

The hike to Trolltunga (literally "the troll’s tongue") in Skjeggedal is 23-27 kilometres long, with an ascent of about 900 meters. It will take you up to 10 hours in total, but it is worth the effort – along the way you pass many attractions, for example the Ringedal dam and mountain potholes.

Minimum: 3 people - everyday departure from 15. june to 15.september.
150$ /person.

The hiking season usually lasts from the middle of June to the middle of September.

Day by day

Meet your guide in Skjeggedal. Public transfer from Odda everyday between 15.june and 15.september.

The first ascent of the hike is the most strenuous. It is 1 km of constant, steep climbing on stone steps and gravel trails before the terrain levels out. Once we conquer the first 1 km climb, things get easier. The trail levels out, for just a little bit, and then you will have several smaller climbs. However, these are nothing like what you just did.

Nearly 11 kilometers into the hike you’ll reach the main attraction, Trolltunga. Take some time to rest and enjoy the beautiful view. For those who dare, you can also walk out on the cliff that has a vertical drop of 700 meters. This is an experience you won’t forget!
